Before Chad's sickness, we had a master plan. We decided we need to move all of the furniture from upstairs to our room, paint it, and redo our bedroom. Then we could start on the playroom, nursery room and guest room. We laid out all the work to finish our bedroom in a week. First we sanded all of the old furniture we were painting white.
I believe the above photo was taken by Grace. Next, we designed a headboard, and used painters tape to see if we liked how it looked.
Throughout the week we sanded and painted primer, paint and poly on the furniture. This was a family affair! Everyone helped!!!
Time to paint!! We picked Summer Sandcastle (as we are going for a beachy bedroom) and it has real sand in it. Should be fun to take off. We got this far until we ran out of paint...
The next day we ran out and got more paint, finished the room and did a second coat. Then it was break time!!!
Finished product: headboard
And to truly make the room-- we took down these awful, awful, awful, awful hanging blinds and replaced them with bamboo blinds and white curtains. I LOVE IT!!!! Here's a before shot... not sure you can make out those awful blinds.
The latest on Chad: he came home from the hospital on Monday. He has a drain bag hanging off the side of him and he is eating. Not a lot, but we are glad to have him home. Tuesday, Grace left with my parents to go enjoy summer camp in PA. She will visit all of her relatives and have a great time. I miss her a lot, but it's also a lot taking care of a 30.5 week pregnant woman and her sick husband. We see the doctor Tuesday so we'll let you know what's next!!!
