Big Trip to the Big Apple

Before Chad became a girl scout, we decided to go to the big city. Grace went to stay with Nan-Nan and Pop-Pop and we went to have some fun.

It was one of the best trips that we've taken in awhile (no morning sickness! or any sickness!). We got to NYC around 9, left our luggage at the hotel and went to sign up for tickets to Letterman. We put our name on the list and within an hour got a call that we were in! Even better-- we got the call while we were buying Grace a dress at Macy's for less than 8 bucks! You can see this wonderful purchase at various weddings this summer and fall.

We toured Madison Square Garden, and went to get our tickets. Then we found out that we had an audience upgrade! That landed us in the 2nd row, right in front of Dave. The guests were so-so.. Chad was a big fan of John Edwards (read: sarcasm). Then we got half price tickets to critically acclaimed "Spring Awakening" where we had great seats. That was, we thought, about the only thing great about the musical. The music was good, the lyrics awful... and the play... well if anyone wants to see it, give us a call.

The next day, it was off to tour Radio City Music Hall (see picture with real Rockette) and shop! Again, for Grace. We also stopped in at the Today Show. You could quickly catch a glimpse of us behind one of the anchors in the later hours of the show. It was a really great trip.
